I really don't know what to do with Bitty Baby's ballerina outfit. I just got it from AG as a Christmas present for Nicole and it has never been used. It has been sitting in the box brand new and who knows when it will be used. Nicole is no longer playing with Bitty Baby. She plays with my 18 inch dolls instead.

Do I send it back to AG or do I sell it on ebay? If I send it back to AG, I will have to pay to ship it back to them and will lose on the shipping that I already spent on getting it. Is it worth it?

When I ask Nicole she tells me to just keep it but she never wants to play with it. I figure that if she starts paying attention to Baby Pink (Bitty Baby's name) then I can always get it again and maybe even at a sale price. Who knows...

I really don't want to be keeping boxes with brand new items around that never get used.

What should I do?

Here is my take on that... I have run into a lot of little girls - between 7-10 years old- who have been oogling over my daughters bitty baby. I know of at least 1 10 year old whose mother wanted to get her an AGH but who wanted another BB instead. So, my feeling is that it may take a few years for your daughter to want to play with babies again & will definately want to play with the 'big' girl dolls now that they have been introduced. If the ballerina outfit is one that you like & think would interest your daughter in the future, then you should keep it. However, if you are not in love with the outfit & think that it won't matter if, when your daughter has a renewed interest in BB, you can't find the outfit again - then sell it.

Also, how much do you think you could sell it for on ebay - I've not noticed whether BB does well, especially if it isn't retired...

Good luck with your decision.

Monika,

I think you are right. The outfit is adorable. I probably wouldn't be able to sell it well on ebay since it's not retired. It would also cost me to ship it back to AG.

I think I will keep it around for longer. You just reminded me of people telling me that when their girls got older they had renewed interest in baby dolls.

I didn't want to send the outfit back since it is so cute and I was even planning on getting a girl sized one for Nicole since she loves ballet.

Okay, that's it. I will keep it.

Thanks,
Lynet

Good decision!

My 4 year old loves ballet & wants all the ballet stuff - she really wants the BB outfits (for her & BB) - but I'm not sure. I just got her the Marisol outfit & we have the swan lake - but that said I probably will get the BB one as well...

I was kinda hoping that there would be a sale on it sometime but doesn't look that way...

My 8 Year old daughter asked for the Twins for Christmas. She loves Ben and Sarah.....although she definatly loves Sarah more and I regretted rush shipping the twins and thought I should have a gotten a BB instead!

Keep the outfit - she will definately go back to BB again! Rachel and I just started collecting in 2002 Kit was her first....i never would have imagined her wanting a BB - but she did.

I think you should get the girl sized ballet to match and dress up the doll and your daughter. Then take them to a studio for this year's pictures. I can't think of anything cuter especially if you make the day special in other ways. Maybe you could work on a special performance of daughter and doll just for dad.

As a mom of two teenagers I have to say that my favorite portraits are the ones where my kids were in their play clothes or other favorite outfits. The portraits with them all dressed up aren't one tenth as precious because they don't really have any memories attached.

I really wish I could go back and take pictures of my daughter with her dolls. Hmmmm . . . now I am wondering if I could get a 17 year old sized matching outfit. Any ideas of how I would get her to wear it??? LOL
